After searching high and low for the perfect basic black bag I finally got lucky with this beauty from Zara. It’s just perfectly simple! I’m so very tempted to get the tan leather version too. At £19.99 I can’t really say no…

Skincare Basics

Hands up if you have a skincare addiction? *raises hand*. I’ve had bad skin since I was about 14; nothing has rid me of the problem ( I’m pretty sure it’s dairy that causes it but I can’t bear to give up tea… ) but I have found a few firm favourites to help me out. I thought I’d write a post for the things I use everyday and another later for my favourite masks and treatments. So here goes…

Jurlique Purely Bright night moisturiser

The reason I love this: It’s lightweight, sinks straight into the skin, smells so good and doesn’t leave my face feeling like I just massaged a load of grease into it. It’s quite pricey at £28 but I found it in a set of 3 in Tk Maxx for £20!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Mat Moisturiser

This keeps my ridiculously oily skin at bay for way longer than anything other moisturiser I’ve tried. I’ve tried other moisturisers but always end up going back to this.

Andrea Garland Violet Facial Oil

I’m going to admit I first bought this just for the packaging. It’s flipping beautiful. But It’s also a really amazing facial oil. It sinks straight into the skin and smell sooo good.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

I bought this last year when it was all the rage, finished the bottle and decided to try and find a cheaper alternative. But alas, Caudalie is back in the beauty cabinet. There’s just something so addictive about this stuff. And yep, it smells really good!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo

I’ve found this really helps calm down my skin on its bad days.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

I don’t think I need to say much about this as it’s had so much praise. The best make up remover.

Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm

I wanted to try this for so long but just couldn’t justify the hefty price tag. Eventually I gave in and oh my god, where has this been all my life. Also, on the plus side, this tub has lasted me 5 months of daily use. FIVE MONTHS. Price justified.

Trousers: Topshop • Top: COS • Dress: COS • Jacket: H&M • Dress: Topshop • Shoes: Topshop • Bracelet: COS • Rings: ASOS

Last night I spent hours going through my clothes and getting rid of things I don’t actually wear… I do this a lot but this time it was different: I actually got rid of things I don’t wear instead of reasoning with myself (hurray!). I thought I’d donate most of it to charity but I have a few thing to put on ebay soon! Anyways, now my wardrobe is significantly more empty I’ve spent a fair amount of time tonight browsing for new things to buy when I get paid! These are my favourites!

Don’t forget to enter my Ray Ban Wayfarer giveaway, it ends today!

To the seaside…

A rare break in the freezing cold weather occurred over the weekend so Robbie and I decided to jump in the car and head south to a little seaside village in North Yorkshire for the day. Even though we both live on the coast it’s nice to see it from a different perspective sometimes!

I feel like I’ve been living in jeans lately so I pulled out this black skirt and wore it with my favourite shirt ever; look at the little raccoons! After walking around the little village for a couple of hours (and walking up the steepest hill ever, my legs still hurt) we drove home and I thought about how pleased I was that spring had finally arrived…

I mentioned in another post that sometimes the beauty section in TK Maxx is a place of wonder so I thought I’d show you some of my favourite things I’ve found there…

Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap • L’Occitane Body Lotion • Jemma Kidd Eyeshadow Quads in Brown & Natural • Korres Japanese Rose Body Milk • Stilla Lipstick, Tiwnset & Convertible Colour • Korres Watermelon Body Scrub • Jurlique Purely Bright Cleanser, Night Moisturiser & Radiance Serum • New Cid Lip Pencils • Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Conditioner

I can’t remember the exact price of everything but I know I paid no more than £10 for everything but the Jurlique trio which came in a set for £20! After searching the RRP for these I nearly died… the serum alone is £43.20 on Feel Unique… Greatest find ever. The Stilla trio was also a huge bargain and only cost £7 for the three things which is incredible as the Convirtable Colour is £14 in Boots!

So, in conclusion: I frigging love TK Maxx.

ps: I set up a facebook page for the blog today! I’d be really grateful if you gave it a like!
